"The Manson Family" Coming to DVD April 26th

Certainly the best news of the last two weeks for me has been the following: The Manson Family is arriving on a 2-disc DVD set on April 26th. For those that haven't heard, The Manson Family is supposedly one of the most disturbing portrayals of Charles Manson's murders ever filmed, and has been in production for fifteen years (!!!!). That and the soundtrack totally rips, as it features an entire catalog of Phil Anselmo-related bands such as Superjoint Ritual and Necrophagia.(read more...)

Chucky's Seed Spills on DVD

I thought that Seed of Chucky was a horrifically hilarious and extremely entertaining entry into the Child's Play franchise, so naturally, recent news about its DVD specs was like music to my ears (only, in my case, it was like music in the goregrind/noise genre, but that's beside the point). Why, here are the specs now:

First of all, there will be three versions of Seed on DVD. The first will be the fullscreen R-rated cut, and then there's the unrated cut, which will appear in two different forms: one fullscreen and the other widescreen. As far as the "bonus features" go, here's what we have to look forward to:(read more...)

Have an Idea for "Freddy vs. Jason 2"?

Freddy vs. Jason 2's development status has been on and off. First we hear it's going to happen, and that Ash will be joining the battle, then we hear that that idea has been completely scrapped, then we hear that there are no plans for the sequel, then we hear there are, then we hear there aren't again, and so on and so forth. Well, Creature-corner.com recently reported that they've had a chance to speak with the vice-president of production at New Line Cinema, and he said the following about FvJ2:

"Unfortunately, there are no current plans for a sequel…Would love to hear from fans if this is disappointing to them. Also, would love to know what story they would want to see since the Ash match-up hasn't worked out."(read more...)

Attack of the New Trailers

This is just a little heads up-a few trailers for upcoming films have found their way to the web. Below is a list of the new trailers, along with some linkage so you can click, sit back, and enjoy the Windows Media/Quicktime magic…

…okay, I lied. None of this is "magic", with the exception of Rottweiler and maybe Creep and The Nun (notice, the only exceptions are the independent films). Everything else listed here looks, and this is purely from viewing the trailers, like feces. I felt the need to include this, however, to illustrate the point made in the beginning of this column. Yeah, go ahead…watch it. See what I mean?

Coming Soon: "Zombeak"

One of my favorite things in life, aside from midgets, is satanic zombie chickens. I have always had daydreams about watching movies with satanic zombie chickens in them. Unfortunately, there has never been a movie about satanic zombie chickens…until now! The people behind the upcoming film Zombeak obviously have good taste, as their movie is all about satanic zombie chickens. If you too share a need to see satanic zombie chickens on film, then you should certainly check out http://www.zombeak.com, the official website of the film. In it, you'll find a truly beautiful trailer, information on the cast and crew, photos, production art, and just a little bit more. Visitation to this site is required for all satanic zombie chicken fans.

Fangoria Developing Own TV Channel

Fortunately, you read that headline correctly -- America's #1 horror magazine is indeed developing a 24-hour television channel, which surprisingly will debut sometime this month. This splendid news basically came out of nowhere last week, and was a little odd considering the Horror Channel had plans to debut some type of Fangoria-themed show as part of their programming.(read more...)

It seems as if Taurus Entertainment, the company responsible for the upcoming Day of the Dead sequel (Day of the Dead: Contagium) is developing yet another sequel to a Romero-involved film, and this time it's Creepshow. Yes, that's right-- you'll be seeing Creepshow 3 in some form in the near future.(read more...)

"Man-Thing" Movie Finally Gets Release Date

The most unlikely Marvel character to ever receive the film treatment, Man-Thing, has received just that. But that's old news. It has been for quite a while now. In fact, the film has even been finished for quite a while now. So, after countless delays, when the hell are we gonna see this red-eyed, tentacle-faced creature on the screen?(read more...)
