While at the International Horror and Sci-Fi Film Festival last month, I had a chance to speak with one of their special guests, Adrienne King, who played "final girl" Alice in Friday the 13th and Friday the 13th Part 2. She was there to introduce a screening of the first Friday, take questions from the audience afterward, and then do a signing. After all of that, she was kind enough to grant an interview to Classic-Horror.com, even though the hour was very late.

Paramount to Release Uncut DVD of "Friday the 13th"

One of the most-repeated fandom gripes I heard at the International Horror & Sci-Fi Film Festival was directed squarely at Paramount -- they won't release the uncut DVDs of the slasher movies that they produced and/or distributed in the 1980s, even when the materials are plainly available.

New "Friday the 13th" Confirmed to Be a Remake

The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that the upcoming Friday the 13th film from Platinum Dunes will be a remake, in a manner of speaking. The film, written by the Freddy vs. Jason team of Damian Shannon and Mark Swift, will focus squarely on Jason Voorhees, who will wear his infamous hockey mask as he stalks the campgrounds of Crystal Lake.

Yes, it just might. Rumor spouting machine and Freddy Krueger himself, Robert Englund, recently spoke to JoBlo.com about why Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash fell through, and what to expect in a future film incarnation featuring the two titular titans of terror. Englund hints at Michael Meyers entering the fray, but who knows if that will happen.

t is quite a rare occurrence for me to actually become pissed--and I mean pissed as in slamming my fist on the computer desk and growling in anger--as a result of reading some recent movie news, but Quentin Tarantino has made the inner, ultra-obsessive nerd in me very, very angry, and me no like. You see, recently I reported on Quentin Tarantino's possible involvement with a new Friday the 13th film.

This could be quite possibly the best news the entire genre of horror has seen in the last decade: Quentin Tarantino, the Oscar-winning director of such as films as Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, and most recently Kill Bill, is in talks to direct the next entry in the Friday the 13th franchise!

Freddy vs. Jason 2's development status has been on and off. First we hear it's going to happen, and that Ash will be joining the battle, then we hear that that idea has been completely scrapped, then we hear that there are no plans for the sequel, then we hear there are, then we hear there aren't again, and so on and so forth.
