As Lee Adama on the Sci-Fi Channel's Battlestar Galactica, Jamie Bamber faces the Cylons, a group of cybernetic beings who are the worst case scenario of man's continued development of increasingly complex technologies. Now, in Joel Soisson's Pulse 2: Afterlife (a sequel to the 2005 Kairo remake, Pulse), he is up against another result of technological expansion -- ghosts that are literally in the machines. We had a chance to talk to Bamber about his role in Pulse 2 while we were at San Diego Comic-Con this year.

Planet Hollywood to Host "Resident Evil: Extinction" Premiere

Planet Hollywood's Las Vegas Resort and Casino, in an attempt to reinvent itself as the Tinseltown of Nevada, is hosting a month-long promotional push for Screen Gems' Resident Evil: Extinction, which will culminate in the film's September 20th premiere. Two thirty-foot banners advertising the movie, directed by Russell Mulcahy (Highlander), have been flying outside Planet Hollywood Las Vegas since mid-August. Hotel rooms will receive a channel devoted to promotional material for the film, there will be ticket giveaways and a chance to win a BMW motorcycle.

"Saw IV" Teaser Trailer Online

Anyone dying for a glimpse at the latest installment in the ongoing Saw saga should head over to Yahoo Movies where the teaser trailer has been posted. The trailer clocks in at 53 seconds and doesn't tell you a lot about the film, other than the fact that there will be people writhing in pain and agony.

Director for "The Descent 2"

Speaking at Film Four's FrightFest in London, director Neil Marshall (Dog Soldiers) revealed that he would not be directing a sequel to his film The Descent, Fangoria.com reports. Instead, The Descent 2 would mark the directorial debut of the original film's editor, Jon Harris. Marshall said that although he will not be taking the director's chair this go-around, he would be involved in every aspect of the production. One assumes this also means the script, which has not yet been written.

No Bruce Campbell in "Bubba Nosferatu"

Although it had been long-rumored that actor Bruce Campbell would not be reprising the role of Elvis in Don Coscarelli's Bubba Ho-Tep sequel Bubba Nosferatu, the actor confirmed the news to Fangoria Radio on Friday. Apparently, the issue came down to the script. "[Don Coscarelli and I] got to a few points ... that we couldn't reconcile. I want to keep our friendship, so we parted ways. So I'm not part of that project." Coscarelli is reportedly thinking about recasting the part, but acknowleged to Fangoria that it would be difficult to fill Campbell's shoes.

"Hostel Part II" DVD Cover Art

Sony Pictures showed Fangoria.com the cover art for the October 23rd DVD release of Eli Roth's Hostel: Part II. The disc will contain the full, unrated cut of the film. Additionally, it will include the following features:

Lionsgate has released a new poster for Saw IV, the latest entry in the Saw series. Here we see what appears to be Jigsaw's head in a pan. This is a slightly altered version of this poster, unveiled about a month ago.

"The Host 2" Coming At You

Bong Joon-ho's South Korean monster flick The Host has gained quite a reputation over here in the States, so this news isn't surprising: Chungeorahm Film, the production company behind the film, is planning a sequel, according to Yonhap News. "We'll start making the film from this fall,'' said Choi Yong-bae, CEO of Chungeorahm. Joon-ho will reportedly not be involved, as he will be working on other projects.

"Freddy vs. Jason 2" -- Maybe Yes, Maybe No

Yes, it just might. Rumor spouting machine and Freddy Krueger himself, Robert Englund, recently spoke to JoBlo.com about why Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash fell through, and what to expect in a future film incarnation featuring the two titular titans of terror. Englund hints at Michael Meyers entering the fray, but who knows if that will happen.
