Happy 9th Birthday, Classic-Horror!

Nine years ago today, Classic-Horror launched as a subset of my Angelfire personal page. We look forward to providing more awesome reviews, news, interviews, and features in the year to come. Keep an eye out for our Comic-Con coverage next month and our annual review marathon in October.

On a personal note, I want to thank the readers, writers, and all the folks who have been kind enough to grant us interviews over the years. Without all of you, this site wouldn't be one-quarter of what it is today.

Classic-Horror is expanding its writing team! If you love horror films, write well, and are interested in contributing your skills, then this may be the opportunity for you.

This go-around, we are specifically looking for film reviewers, although we will consider applications for newsreel reporters and Masters biographers. More details on exactly what we're looking for can be found on our Help Wanted page.

We've Got Panache!

Over at DVD Panache, an awesome movie blog, Adam Ross posts a weekly segment called the Friday Screen Test, where a blogger or "web-siteur" answers questions about their film fanatacism. This week, I'm the one answering the questions. A lot of the questions seemed simple until I started answering them, at which point they became downright complex.

Boy, what a week this has been. On Sunday, January 6th, 2008, Classic-Horror's server went down when the hard drive failed. The next day, I discovered that all of our recent backups were either missing or unusable. You can imagine the kind of blood-curdling scream that resulted when found that out.

Welcome to the New Classic-Horror.com!

You've probably noticed a few things that are just a bit... different around here. After a lot of hard work by a lot of different people, the brand-new Classic-Horror.com has finally launched on the site's eighth birthday. We're running on the Drupal content management system, which allows us the flexibility to offer all sorts of new features. I'm really excited about the possibilities that this opens up for the future of the site.
