Ten Years of Classic-Horror.com

Curse of Classic-Horror faux poster

Here we are, ten crazy years after a naïve sixteen-year-old started the website that would eventually become Classic-Horror.com. Back then, I just wanted a corner of the Internet to express my half-formed opinions on the genre that I loved. I had no idea that it would still be here ten years later or that it would take me all the places it has taken me. I have no interest in rehashing the past decade, though. I would like to say that I am deeply grateful to the friends, family, writers, and readers who have helped make Classic-Horror what it is today.

Over the next few weeks, we'll be running a few special features to celebrate this momentous occasion. However, the first thing you've probably already noticed is that we've changed our look. I wanted to give Classic-Horror.com a touch more visual pizazz, ensure the organization of the site was intuitive, and make the site overall easier to use and enjoy. I think I've succeeded. Some of the features we've added include:

  • A brand-new header, featuring our new mascot, Ray the Rampaging Revenant.
  • A standardized layout for the reviews, newsreel, and Masters pages.
  • Bigger, easier-to-read font.
  • The ability to comment on our reviews as well as our news stories.
  • Complete removal of ads. We've also put in a donation box on the sidebar.

There's much more, of course and I encourage our readers to explore and discover all the different alterations we've made. If you have any comments on the new design, please leave us a message via our Contact Page.

Congratulations on the ten

Congratulations on the ten years of frights. LOTTD is privileged to have you as part of the group.

I'd like to thank you, Nate,

I'd like to thank you, Nate, for starting Classic-Horror.  Not only did you give me my first online movie review/discussion experience, but also the site is my be-all, end-all for finding old (and sometimes new) horror to check out if I haven't already.  Here's to another ten!

John, I am far far more

John, I am far far more privileged to be a part of LOTTD, believe me.

Monroevillezombie, it's great to hear from one of the writers that passed through our halls back in the day! Part of these ten years belong to you as well.

"He went for a little walk! You should have seen his face!"

Congratulations!  Here's to

Congratulations!  Here's to 10 more years of this awesome site.  I just yesterday celebrated the one year anniversary of my little corner in the horror world and I can only hope to have the staying power that you guys have had!

I'm new to your site, however

I'm new to your site, however the look/design is great. I have subscribed and look forward to hearing more from you about the classics. Congratulations on ten years of Horror Blogging!

I've been coming to this

I've been coming to this place, although rather sparodically trough the years since nearly the time it began. Saw changes happen before here. It's nice to see it is still around all these years.

I do miss the forums. Will they be coming back at some time? I know I can get quite a few memebers to join if it ever comes back.

Again as always nice job to the site!
