About Us

Classic-Horror.com is a website dedicated to exploring and celebrating the history of the horror film, through reviews, articles, and biographies of artists who have contributed to the genre. The site first opened in 1999. Classic-Horror has been cited by the Chicago Tribune, Roger Ebert, AMC's Monsterfest blog, Yahoo! Pick of the Day, the New York Daily News, and the Librarian's Index to the Internet. We can be reached via our contact form.
Social Networking
Classic-Horror.com can be where-ever you are (cue stalker music)! Become a fan on Facebook, follow us on LiveJournal, or friend us on MySpace.
Technology
Classic-Horror.com uses the Drupal content management system with MySQL5 as the database backend. The Review and Masters sections were built with the Content Construction Kit and an excessive amount of jiggery-pokery. Other important modules include Views, Rules, and Pathauto.
The Movie Database
The backbone of Classic-Horror is our extensive database of horror films, actors, directors, writers, studios, and effects artists. At the moment, only filmographies and reviewed films are visible. We strive to be as complete as possible using the resources available to us. We constantly check and verify our credits against the Internet Movie Database, The BFI's Film & TV Database, The Encyclopedia of Fantastic Film and Television, and a number of printed books and periodicals. We always welcome you to contact us regarding any corrections and additions to our database.
