On Hiatus

As we announced back in September, Classic-Horror.com will be going on hiatus for six months, with only sporadic posts until our return in May. During this time, we'll be tinkering with the format of the site a little bit, mostly in relation to the Newsreel, which will morph into the Classic-Horror blog, complete with regular columns and musings on horror.

Believe me when I say that this hiatus is necessary. We've been going for over ten years now with very few breaks and it's starting to catch up to me. I have some outside projects that I'd like to work on, the most important of which is getting married to site photographer Erin Dow in December. I've also begun work on a book about horror which I'm hoping to have in shape to submit to publishers by May.

Don't worry, though, we won't be completely away. We'll be participating in Frankensteinia's Boris Karloff Blogathon later this month, we have some guest reviews from bloggers like Max the Drunken Severed Head and B-Sol planned, and we'll also be previewing some of the columns that will launch fully in May.

Congrats on the forthcoming

Congrats on the forthcoming nuptuals! Will it be a horror-themed wedding?

Not horror-themed, but

Not horror-themed, but movie-themed. It's going down in an actual movie theater (the kind they made before stadium seating was the rage) and we're making the bouquet out of 8mm film.

"He went for a little walk! You should have seen his face!"

I only discovered your site

I only discovered your site recently and have been enjoying it almost daily.  You've given me a lot to think about after viewing movies, and I look forward to your return.  Best of luck in all of your projects between now and May.

I recently discovered your

I recently discovered your site and must thank you for your excellent in depth reviews.  Congrats on your wedding and continued success to you!

Your marriage plans must have

Your marriage plans must have come to fruition by now. My heart-felt and sincerest best wishes to you, regardless of what happened, also for the year to come which looks like it's going to be landmarking for you in a lot of ways. The same wishes go out to your book, the writing of which would seem a mer-à-boire to me.

Take care man,
