Websites Launch for Zombies, Their Master, and a Haunted House

Last week was officially the Week of Website Launches. Not only did the official website for the two upcoming Return of the Living Dead sequels (Necropolis and Rave to the Grave, both of which I am equally excited about) and the new, improved Amityville Horror remake website make their first appearances, but also, the much-anticipated Georgearomero.com was relaunched with a completely new look and some oddly-placed photos of George A. Romero Xbox and iPod skins, both of which (mark my words) I WILL own, if and when they become available to zombie lovers such as myself. To check out any of the aforementioned websites, click on the links below:

Attack of the New Trailers

This is just a little heads up-a few trailers for upcoming films have found their way to the web. Below is a list of the new trailers, along with some linkage so you can click, sit back, and enjoy the Windows Media/Quicktime magic…

…okay, I lied. None of this is "magic", with the exception of Rottweiler and maybe Creep and The Nun (notice, the only exceptions are the independent films). Everything else listed here looks, and this is purely from viewing the trailers, like feces. I felt the need to include this, however, to illustrate the point made in the beginning of this column. Yeah, go ahead…watch it. See what I mean?

Chucky's Seed Spills on DVD

I thought that Seed of Chucky was a horrifically hilarious and extremely entertaining entry into the Child's Play franchise, so naturally, recent news about its DVD specs was like music to my ears (only, in my case, it was like music in the goregrind/noise genre, but that's beside the point). Why, here are the specs now:

First of all, there will be three versions of Seed on DVD. The first will be the fullscreen R-rated cut, and then there's the unrated cut, which will appear in two different forms: one fullscreen and the other widescreen. As far as the "bonus features" go, here's what we have to look forward to:(read more...)

"Shaun of the Dead" BAFTA-Nominated

The BAFTA awards (the British equivalent of the Oscars) have nominated the romantic zomedy Shaun of the Dead for two of its top awards. Producer Nira Park is up for the The Carl Foreman Award For Special Achievement By a British Director/Producer OR Writer In Their First Feature Film, and the film itself has been nominated for Best British Film.(read more...)

Have an Idea for "Freddy vs. Jason 2"?

Freddy vs. Jason 2's development status has been on and off. First we hear it's going to happen, and that Ash will be joining the battle, then we hear that that idea has been completely scrapped, then we hear that there are no plans for the sequel, then we hear there are, then we hear there aren't again, and so on and so forth. Well, Creature-corner.com recently reported that they've had a chance to speak with the vice-president of production at New Line Cinema, and he said the following about FvJ2:

"Unfortunately, there are no current plans for a sequel…Would love to hear from fans if this is disappointing to them. Also, would love to know what story they would want to see since the Ash match-up hasn't worked out."(read more...)

Fangoria Developing Own TV Channel

Fortunately, you read that headline correctly -- America's #1 horror magazine is indeed developing a 24-hour television channel, which surprisingly will debut sometime this month. This splendid news basically came out of nowhere last week, and was a little odd considering the Horror Channel had plans to debut some type of Fangoria-themed show as part of their programming.(read more...)

"Creepshow 3" in Development

It seems as if Taurus Entertainment, the company responsible for the upcoming Day of the Dead sequel (Day of the Dead: Contagium) is developing yet another sequel to a Romero-involved film, and this time it's Creepshow. Yes, that's right-- you'll be seeing Creepshow 3 in some form in the near future.(read more...)

"Man-Thing" Movie Finally Gets Release Date

The most unlikely Marvel character to ever receive the film treatment, Man-Thing, has received just that. But that's old news. It has been for quite a while now. In fact, the film has even been finished for quite a while now. So, after countless delays, when the hell are we gonna see this red-eyed, tentacle-faced creature on the screen?(read more...)

"Devil's Rejects" Website Overhauled

The Devil's Rejects is a film that I am greatly anticipating, and now, people like me have even more of a reason to water at the mouth while awaiting this sequel to House of 1000 Corpses. You see, an update of the official website of the film has graced the web. Actually, this could probably be regarded as more of an overhaul than just a mere update, as the site has been given an entire new layout and a few new features. I could describe more here, but I'd only be postponing your viewing of the site, so I'll just leave you with linkage: http://www.thedevilsrejects.com. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
