The Terrophile: Love Shack of the Evil Dead (Fanvid)

Evil Dead poster

Sometimes when I'm coming up with my fanvids, I think of the movie or television series I want to work with, and then come up with a song. Sometimes I like of a song and try to find a fandom to vid it to. However, with my latest creation, the song and source came at the same time in a burst of inspiration: The B-52's "Love Shack" paired with The Evil Dead and Evil Dead II. In hindsight, it's an obvious pairing. However, the actual editing process was less obvious. From start to finish, this video was a year and a half in the making. I hope you enjoy it.

Raimi and Tapert on "Boogeyman", "Evil Dead", and More

Bloody-Disgusting.com recently posted a quite interesting and extremely informative interview they conducted with Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert, who served as producers on the feces-fest called Boogeyman.(read more...)

"Boogeyman" Website Launches

Sam Raimi (director of Evil Dea-oh, come on, I really hope that if you're on classic-horror.com, you know who Sam Raimi is -- the man needs no introduction) and his genre production company, Ghost House Pictures, who recently unleashed The Grudge, are currently pimping the release of their second film, Boogeyman, with the release of the official website (check it out here: http://www.sonypictures.com/movies/boogeyman/index.html). Raimi to Hold a Second "Grudge"

Sam Raimi's production outfit Ghost House Pictures (whatever happened to Renaissance, anyway?) is looking to fund a sequel to their recent horror remake hit The Grudge. Stephen Susco, the writer of the previous entry, has been contracted to pen the second film in what may become a franchise. The Grudge is a remake of the 2003 Japanese horror flick Ju-On, and the two films shared the same director, Takashi Shimizu.(read more...)

"Evil Dead": The Remake

Yet another classic horror film that is entirely unique and probably doesn't need any sort of remake is getting remade... and this time, at the behest of its original director. Sam Raimi's Ghost House Pictures is gearing up to remake The Evil Dead. Raimi will not direct the film himself, but is actively looking for a new person to take the helm. Although there's been no official casting, word has come down the pike that both Seann William Scott (American Pie) and Justin Theroux (Mulholland Drive) are strong contenders to replace Bruce Campbell as Ash.
