No Bruce Campbell in "Bubba Nosferatu"

Bubba Ho-Tep DVD

Although it had been long-rumored that actor Bruce Campbell would not be reprising the role of Elvis in Don Coscarelli's Bubba Ho-Tep sequel Bubba Nosferatu, the actor confirmed the news to Fangoria Radio on Friday. Apparently, the issue came down to the script. "[Don Coscarelli and I] got to a few points ... that we couldn't reconcile. I want to keep our friendship, so we parted ways. So I'm not part of that project." Coscarelli is reportedly thinking about recasting the part, but acknowleged to Fangoria that it would be difficult to fill Campbell's shoes.

Bubba Nosferatu's plot as it stands now involves Elvis fighting Vegas-based vampires while dealing with the manipulations of his manager, Colonel Tom Parker (to be played by Paul Giamatti).

More news from Campbell, including the status of the Evil Dead remake, can be found at Fangoria.com.

However, when SWAT Commander Rigg, the last officer untouched by Jigsaw (Tobin Bell), is suddenly abducted and thrust into the madman's harrowing game, the officer has but ninety minutes to overcome a series of interconnected traps... or face the deadly consequences.(read more...)

"Alien vs Predator" Sequel In the Works

No, it's not your eyesight-you (maybe unfortunately) read that headline correctly. AVP 2 is probably happening. 20th Century Fox co-chairman Tom Rothman had this to say about the sequel:

"In the new ALIEN VS. PREDATOR, they will finally actually really come to our world…It's likely that we will bridge the gap, and the beginning of that will be setting it in our contemporary universe."(read more...)

"Freddy vs. Jason 2" -- Maybe Yes, Maybe No

Yes, it just might. Rumor spouting machine and Freddy Krueger himself, Robert Englund, recently spoke to JoBlo.com about why Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash fell through, and what to expect in a future film incarnation featuring the two titular titans of terror. Englund hints at Michael Meyers entering the fray, but who knows if that will happen. Tarantino Not Attached to "Friday the 13th" Sequel

t is quite a rare occurrence for me to actually become pissed--and I mean pissed as in slamming my fist on the computer desk and growling in anger--as a result of reading some recent movie news, but Quentin Tarantino has made the inner, ultra-obsessive nerd in me very, very angry, and me no like. You see, recently I reported on Quentin Tarantino's possible involvement with a new Friday the 13th film. The rumor was, as they say, a fanboy's wet dream, but about two days after first reporting the glorious rumor, my hopes for a fresh, new, and truly unique entry into the Friday the 13th series were squelched like a puny human under Kong's foot, as Empire Online asked Tarantino himself whether or not his involvement with Friday was true…and the answer sucked. Here's what Quentin said:(read more...)
