The site first opened in 1999. Classic-Horror has been cited by the Chicago Tribune, Roger Ebert, AMC's Monsterfest blog, Yahoo! Technology
Classic-Horror.com uses the Drupal content management system with MySQL5 as the database backend. The Review and Masters sections were built with the MovieDB module, albeit a heavily customized version. The Newsreel utilizes the Content Construction Kit. Other important modules include Views, Content Templates, and Taxonomy Context.
