"The Thing 2"?
If you're not a fan of John Carpenter's film The Thing, you're probably not much of a horror fan. If you are a fan of the film, however, you might want to take note of the following: the Sci-Fi Channel's Sci-Fi Pictures division (known for bringing us such classics as…uh…that one movie with snake… and… that one with the aliens…) and executive producer Frank Darabont (The Green Mile) are currently planning a four-hour miniseries (*groan*) sequel to Carpenter's classic. There's no word on when this sequel will hit the air, or even when filming will begin just yet, but as soon as more info arises I will most certainly fill you in, so keep watching this space. Hopefully, this Sci-Fi original will surprise everyone and turn out to be fantastic (hey, I'm trying to think optimistic here). I've always had a soft spot for Sci-Fi Pictures, being a b-movie fanatic and all, but I'm a little turned off by the "four-hour miniseries" label that's been given to this one. Still, four hours is shorter than most miniseries out there, so there's still a chance that this one could turn out swell. You just got to buh-leave!
