Classic-Horror.com is based out of Phoenix, AZ, so occasionally we'll be providing horror news that is specific to that region. In this case, we wanted to give everyone the heads-up that the Midnite Movie Mamacita, a local cult movie advocate who hosts screenings of classic grindhouse cinema here in the Valley, has an amazing slate of strange cinema lined up for her Reels of Fury event, going on every Friday and Saturday in September at the Chandler Cinemas (2140 N. Arizona Ave, Chandler, AZ 85224).

The whole thing kicks off tonight with her monthly Grindhouse Redux double feature, a two-fer of cult cinema that plays the last Friday of every month. She'll be screening Terror of Mechagodzilla (1975), the last Godzilla feature to be directed by Ishiro Honda, and Flesh Gordon (1974), the classic softcore parody of 1930s sci-fi serials. The show starts at 9PM and costs $6 dollars admission. Please note that the theater accepts cash only and that there is no ATM on-site.

The schedule for the rest of the month:

Saturday, September 1st: Double feature of The Wrestler (1974) and Lucio Fulci's City of the Living Dead (1980). Starts at 9PM. $6 admission.

Friday, September 7th: The Goonies (1985). Two showings (6PM and 9PM). $6 admission.

Friday, September 28th (Grindhouse Redux): Double feature of The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra (2001) and House of Insane Women (1971, aka Exorcism's Daughter). Starts at 9PM. $6 admission.

Saturday, September 29th: Double feature of The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra (2001) and House of Insane Women (1971, aka Exorcism's Daughter). Starts at 9PM. $6 admission.

Please note that the films may change due to circumstances beyond the control of the Midnite Movie Mamacita. Also, several of these prints are old and there is a possibility that the film might stop if the film breaks. Believe me when I say that it's all worth it, though.
